I have three current research streams, all connected by a focus on equity in K-12 schools. The first stream focuses on suburban schools, analyzing how equity initiatives changed between 2019-2023. My current book project, Eras of Equity: How Suburban Schools Address Inequality has emerged from this research stream. The second stream focuses on mathematics, addressing the “stickiness” of inequality in this subject area. Take a look at my first paper on this topic in Sociology of Education, published with co-authors Caitlin Farrell and Cynthia Coburn! The third stream focuses on equity-centered leadership in K-12 schools. I am working on this topic as a postdoctoral research associate with John Diamond, and in conjunction with the larger CALL-ECL team.

My past research has focused on character education. In the future, I hope to build on this past work to address how character education resonates with equity work in schools.
